I was booked to provide the evening DJ entertainment for a joint 40th birthday party in the Europa Suite at the Europa Gatwick Hotel.

For a 40th birthday, there’s always a great opportunity to mix music from different decades, bringing back plenty of familiar tracks alongside more recent party favourites. With a mixture of ages at the celebration, I kept the music varied and adapted the playlist throughout the evening depending on what was working best on the dance floor.

As the evening got going, the party really came to life. The dance floor filled up and there was a great atmosphere, with guests getting involved and enjoying the music under the party lighting.

One of my favourite parts of DJing birthday celebrations is being able to move between different styles and eras of music. Rather than sticking to a fixed playlist, I can read the room and use the guests' reactions to help shape where the music goes next.

The Europa Suite worked really well for the celebration, with the DJ setup and lighting creating a colourful party atmosphere once the evening was in full swing.

It was a fantastic joint 40th birthday to DJ, with a brilliant crowd, plenty of dancing and a great atmosphere from start to finish.
