My Story – Smallfield Place

Arriving at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square always feels special. Set in the heart of Mayfair, the venue has a real sense of occasion from the moment you pull up outside.

After checking in with the events team, I began setting up the DJ booth and lighting backstage before the guests arrived. Everything needed to be ready in advance, as we had to make a quick handover once the awards ceremony had finished.

Once dinner and speeches wrapped up, it was time to open the dance floor. The first tracks set the tone, and from there the energy built throughout the night as the music evolved to match the crowd.

Reading the room is always key. The guests were of various ages, so it was important to get the first track just right so everyone would join the dance floor. It turned into a great night and the guests really responded well to the music. The goal is always the same – keep the energy flowing and the dance floor full. Nights like this at Marriott Grosvenor Square are always memorable, and it’s a fantastic venue for bringing people together through music.
